Wood-Waste & Textile Sector

We possess a keen understanding of how and why wood waste and textile raw materials transition into useful production for various industries.  Statistics Canada has determined wood waste accounts for 11% of organic waste diversion. Statistics Canada classifies and monitors comber noils under textile waste and manufacturing commodities.

Wood waste and textile raw materials can be transitioned into useful production for various industries:

· Wood waste such as shredded wood, wood chips and saw dust are used for landscaping and agriculture, animal bedding, panel boards, biomass energy (burned in specialized biomass facilities to produce heat and electricity), industrial absorbents (for clean up of oil or chemical spills), wood filler, fire starters and lumber scraps (can be upgraded into furniture, shelving and home décor).

· Dunnage is produced from a variety of materials such as wood planks, boards, paper, cardboard, foam, various plastics metal and fabric. It is used in packing and shipping parcels, boxes, freight/pallets shipping and industrial/manufacturing of plastics, foam and steel.

· Comber Noil is derivative of the cotton yarn spinning process and derived from clean, short cotton fibers. Comber Noil is used for textile and yarn production (woven into knitwear, towels, and bedsheets), due to it’s physical strength and sturdiness it is used for currency and security paper (ie. bank notes and security documents, passports, certificate legal documents). In addition, it is extremely hygienic which makes it perfect for medical and cosmetic products (used to manufacture medical/surgical cotton, swabs, bandages and cosmetic cotton swabs-Q-tips, pads, and cotton balls).

While Charpstin is open to working in all industry sectors we have chosen to develop and focus on the wood-waste & textile industry.
